SYNOPTIC SITUATION
A high [1020 hPa] over the southern Queensland interior will move slowly
eastwards into the southern Coral Sea by Wednesday. A trough is expected to move
northeast across Queensland during Wednesday, before moving across the southern
Queensland coast during Thursday morning. A new ridge of high pressure will
establish itself in the wake of the trough.

FORECAST FOR MORETON BAY
Tuesday until midnight: Winds: S to SW 5 to 10 knots. Seas: 0.4 of a metre.
Wednesday: Winds: SW to NW 5 to 10 knots, increasing to 10 to 15 knots during
the late morning. Winds becoming N to NW 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon and
evening. Seas: to 0.7 metres. Rain areas developing.
Thursday: Winds: N to NW 15 to 20 knots, ahead of a 15 to 20 knot S to SW change
early morning.
Friday: Winds: W to SW 10 to 15 knots, increasing to 15 to 20 knots during the
afternoon. Winds tending S to SW and increasing to 20 to 25 knots during the
evening.

Tuesday until midnight: Winds: S to SW 5 to 10 knots. Seas: 0.7 metres.
Swell: S’ly 1.5 metres offshore.
Wednesday: Winds: NW to SW 5 to 10 knots, increasing to 10 to 15 knots during
the late morning. Winds tending N to NW 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon and
increasing to 15 to 20 knots late evening. Seas: 0.7 to 1.2 metres, increasing
to 1.7 metres late evening. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Rain areas developing.
Thursday: Winds: W to NW 15 to 20 knots, ahead of a 15 to 20 knots S to SW
change early morning.
Friday: Winds: W to SW 10 to 15 knots, increasing to 15 to 20 knots during the
afternoon. Winds tending S to SW and increasing to 20 to 25 knots during the
evening and possibly reaching 25 to 30 knots south of Cape Moreton.
